Eye Health America Announces Jay Burkett as Chief Executive Officer; Mary Lou Parisi as Chief Growth Officer

Eye Health America (EHA), a leading integrated eye care platform in the Southeastern United States, announced today Jay Burkett has been named Chief Executive Officer. Concurrent with Jay’s appointment, Mary Lou Parisi, co-CEO, was named Chief Growth Officer.

Over the last eighteen months, Jay has served as Executive Chairman of the Board, working closely with Mary Lou, John Swencki and EHA’s management team. A 30+ year veteran of the healthcare provider industry, he has spent his career advising companies on strengthening business performance, often through periods of significant growth and change. Jay has held several permanent and interim management positions, including C-level roles at multi-state, multi-site healthcare companies. He brings extensive experience and a passion for building organizations that serve patients’ healthcare needs.

Mary Lou, who has been with EHA since its creation, will transition from her current co-CEO role to Chief Growth Officer. This newly created position will allow her to focus on supporting EHA’s physicians. With the organization’s recent growth to 130+ physicians across 60+ locations, now is the right time to further support those who embody our core value every day: patient-focused eyecare.

As part of this leadership change, John Swencki, co-CEO, will transition from Eye Health America at the end of October. John has been a driving force in EHA’s growth, from leading its initial anchor practice, The Eye Associates, to serving as co-CEO alongside Mary Lou for the past five years.
