Alera Group Appoints Veteran Finance Leader Mark Hammond as Chief Financial Officer

DEERFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 6, 2025--

Alera Group, a top national insurance and financial services firm, today announced that Mark Hammond will join the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on November 17, 2025.

Hammond is joining Alera as the company continues to grow and strengthen its financial operations. As CFO, Hammond will oversee the company’s finance organization, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, capital allocation, and M&A integration. He will report directly to Jim Blue, chief executive officer, and serve on Alera Group’s executive leadership team.

With more than 40 years in finance, Hammond has held senior positions at AssuredPartners, Chubb, Aviva, Orion Auto, and Deloitte. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and CFO at AssuredPartners, where he led financial operations and strategy. Before that, he was Deputy CFO and Global Treasurer at Chubb, and also served as CFO for Chubb’s Europe, Middle East & Africa operations. He was previously EVP & CFO for Aviva’s North America operations.
