PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) — Australia’s first Twenty20 World Cup warmup match has been played in bizarre circumstances with coaches and a selector having to field because only nine players were available to take on Namibia. The Australians won easily despite being short-handed at Trinidad’s Queen’s Park Oval on Tuesday. After restricting Namibia to 119-9, Australia reached 123-3 in 10 overs with veteran opener David Warner finishing 54 not out. Chief selector George Bailey and coach Andre Borovec were on the field in unmarked shirts when the match began. Batting coach Brad Hodge, who is 49, and head coach Andrew McDonald also fielded to give Australian players a break while Namibia was batting. The T20 World Cup warmup games aren't recognized as official T20 internationals.
