The Campaign for Concordia: Next-Gen Now has raised more than $365 million — surpassing its $350-million goal and the campaign’s original $250-million objective set in 2017.

The milestone reflects the generosity of alumni, foundations, corporations, faculty, staff, retirees, friends and volunteers who donated to advance Concordia’s teaching, research and community engagement priorities.

“The remarkable outcome of the Campaign for Concordia: Next-Gen Now demonstrates the determination of our community, and our many friends outside Concordia, who are eager to support and advance the university’s mission,” says Concordia President Graham Carr. “I am profoundly grateful to every donor who chose to invest in our students, our talent and our research.”

“This campaign is about more than dollars raised,” adds Carr. “It’s about building a forward-thinking university ambitious to do great things for society. That ambition has been powerfully affirmed.”

With the support of its three voluntary co-chairs — Andrew Molson, Gina Cody and Lino A. Saputo — the Campaign for Concordia: Next-Gen Now helped transform teaching and learning at Concordia, benefiting not only Montreal, Quebec and Canada, but the world.

“The relationships built through this campaign will last for years and continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of Concordia students,” says Paul Chesser, vice-president of Advancement. “It’s a celebration of collaboration and commitment, showing how collective effort can empower the next generation of leaders, innovators and changemakers.”

Since its launch, the Campaign for Concordia: Next-Gen Now has had a wide-reaching impact:

  • $30 million in financial aid delivered to thousands of students
  • More than $28.7 million raised through tens of thousands of individual gifts of less than $25,000
  • $130 million from alumni among major contributions driving bold new initiatives

Funds raised throughout the campaign have supported scholarships and bursaries, academic research, athletics programs, experiential learning, campus improvements and other strategic endeavours that allow students to thrive.

Helen Antoniou, chair of Concordia’s Board of Governors, is equally thankful to everyone who contributed. “On behalf of the Board, I thank our donors and friends for their unwavering commitment to our university. The Campaign for Concordia shows what is possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Concordia’s future is brighter thanks to the dedication of our supporters.”
