The Nest Schools, a national early childhood education and childcare services provider, announced today that it will partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. Through its KindNEST Charitable Giving Program, The Nest Schools has committed to raising $125,000 through the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program this September — Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — across its 60 centers nationwide. Founders and Co-CEOs Gerry Pastor and Jane Porterfield will personally donate $10,000 to the campaign.
Since 1983, the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon program has been rolling out fun for a great cause. This fundraiser teaches preschoolers riding toy safety and the importance of giving back. In September, each Nest location will transform its playground into a festive Trike-A-Thon course. Children will pedal around the track, collecting pledges from friends and family. Because of support from programs like this, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.
"At The Nest Schools, children are at the heart of everything we do. That's why we are honored to partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through our nationwide Trike-A-Thon,” said Jane Porterfield, founder and Co-CEO of The Nest Schools. “This cause is especially close to us, as over the years, some of the children in our care and their families have been impacted by childhood cancer. It is a privilege to support the lifesaving work at St. Jude and the families who benefit from the generosity of these efforts."
“We’re honored that The Nest Schools is rallying its students, families and staff around the Trike-A-Thon program," said Steve Froehlich, Chief Revenue Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. "Every pedal, pledge and moment of community support brings us closer to finding cures for childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.” Join the thousands of children, families and educators who are part of this nationwide movement.
