PARIS (AP) — Jannik Sinner has pulled out of the Paris Masters in a rare scheduling protest with the fatigued Italian criticizing organizers for failing to give him enough time to rest following an early morning finish in his previous match. On social media the Italian said Thursday “I am sorry to announce that I am withdrawing from today’s match.” That decision saw his third-round opponent Alex de Minaur get a walkover into the quarterfinals. Sinner finished playing his second-round match against Mackenzie McDonald at 2:37 a.m. in Paris early Thursday morning. He says he had “to make the right decision for my health and my body.” He got support from other players. Novak Djokovic beat Tallon Griekspoor 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-4.
